Experiences in LA

 

I just spent a few days in LA checking it out as a place to live/work. And no I don’t only exist as Leah Ireland – duh.

Most of my time here was spent in the company of asinine jackasses who comply to that wierd rule of distortion that is common in LA and Miami – seriously older, non- attractive males who somehow think they’re hot stuff for supermodel 20 year olds. Is this called senile dementia, or is there some other term for it?

Anyhow, under the auspices of my other work/identity I’ve been privy to more of this crap.

Last night was a delightful relief – I spent some time in the company of someone from www.thebluepond.net, who can remain nameless if he feels like it, or not.

What a delightful relief! I felt like I spoke and interracted with a real human for the first time in days.

Anyhow, I can’t say LA rocks my boat, I still totally like Miami more than anywhere else, but little things like there are more money and men in LA really do count… Watch this space.

In LA… Money and Men

I’m newly arrived in LA and will be looking around to see if I want to live here. Actually I don’t think there’s much choice about the want – it just makes more sense to come live here as Miami is woefully short of two very important things – money and men.

Yes there are lots of men in Miami but as all my girlfriends say, very few good looking ones and very few that you’d want to know. And a lot of men old men who want 20 year olds. I hear there are a lot of men the same in LA; they basically suck; but at least the probability of meeting decent men out here is higher, and I hear there are some good looking ones!

In the meantime the grey skies and cold weather here in LA are daunting. I hear it’s not always like this, and a lot of people welcome the cooler temperatures at night but I just love the moist tropical heat of Miami and miss it already.

Happily when I arrived at LAX a friend took me straight to eat at the beach in LA, so as I left one beach town – Fort Lauderdale – I went straight to another. Actually I had lunch at an Italian on the water in Fort Lauderdale too – I love eating on the water.

OK now I’m off to be driven around LA exploring. I’m so pleased about this, it’s always great to be shown around a place by a local. Wish me luck!

Moving to LA

Much as I love the weather in Miami, I’m seriously considering moving to LA. During March I have a wonderful paid weeks vacation coming up, which involves travelling up the west coast with a great date. During that time I’ll be exploring the area a little more and hopefully getting clear about where I will live.

Afterward I hope to spend time with friends in San Diego, but I’m already thinking that San Diego may not be the best place for Leah Ireland to date from – there’s the close proximity of Tijuana, which has had a negative effect on escort prices on San Diego. Guys can hop over the border for very cheap dates, and despite the recent troubles in Tijuana I can’t help but think that must continue to have a bad influence on paid dates.

The negative effect of Latin girls who will work for lower wages is felt very much in Miami. I don’t blame the girls – after all, low wages in Miami and LA can translate into a lot of money in their home country, so who can blame them? But as a lady who likes to receive fees that enable a good quality of life, and who does not like to date a lot of people, working on a volume not quality basis is out of the question for me.

Incidentally a similar thing happened in London – there has been an influx of Eastern European girls for some years who have severely undercut escort prices. Again, a little money earned in London translates into a lot at home. Again, who can blame them. It’s just lousy for the locals.

Back to moving to the west coast – Santa Monica is looking like a favourite location for me right now, and Newport Beach and Irvine have been suggested as good places.
