Bernie Mac is dead, and that’s a really sad thing, what he gave us was special.

The only work of his that I’ve seen is his ‘Bernie Mac’ show, which I just found out is years old. I marvel at the compassion, love and honesty on his show, at how the characters are so honest, and sometimes selfish, yet all work together and come up with solutions – together. Not by being clones or yes people, but through being themselves. I truly find that extraordinary. Bernie Mac gave something very special and unique to the world, he was an awesome guy and to me a reminder of the value of being who we really are.

A lot of the time when famous people are in the news I really don’t give a t–s – for example the story today of the politician John Edwards who lied, lied, lied about cheating on his wife.

??? He’s a politician, that’s what they do – it’s an implicit part of their job description, that they lie whenever they feel is useful to them.

So why the amateur dramatics?

Bernie Mac is dead, having contributed something great and real to the world. He was an inspiration and like a huge amount of people, I truly wish his family all the best in coping with this awful new reality.
